Castor wheels
Industrial castors and wheels made in Slovenia
Castors from the manufacturer
Custom versions
Dimension, wheel material, brake or a special feature to your specification, in a few weeks.
European steel
Housings pressed from European steel in our own plant.
Zinc plated in house
Cr6+-free zinc electroplating of 10 to 15 µm, up to 240 h in the salt spray test.
Recycled material
We use recycled material wherever it does not cost performance, and new material where it does.
How a LIV castor is made
Design, pressing, plating, moulding and assembly of our castors all happen in one plant in Postojna.
-
Design and testing: our engineers design new castors and functions with CAD, FEM analysis and our own test equipment.
-
Stamping and forming: fork, top plate and swivel head are pressed from steel coil on our own presses.
-
Zinc plating and passivation: Cr6+-free electro zinc plating on our own line, 10 to 15 µm.
-
Injection moulding: wheels and parts in PA, PP and injected PU, from automotive-grade recycled material or new material on request.
-
Assembly: automatic and manual assembly lines, with checks during assembly.
One plant, one price
No margins for outside platers or assemblers in the price of the castor.
Turnaround
Parts move between departments, not between companies, so there is no waiting for a subcontractor.
Supply
Little is outsourced, so fewer steps in the supply chain are outside our control.
Prototypes
We build and test prototypes of new designs in house before tooling for series production.
Castor types
Seven groups of castors and wheels
From general-use castors to stainless steel and heavy duty. Full specifications of every article are in the online catalogue.

Special castors we have developed
Most special castors start with a customer problem: a foot that hits the castor, a container that must not roll away, a wheel that runs on scaffolding in the heat.
We adapt an existing castor or design a new one, depending on what the application needs and how many pieces you need.
You get 3D CAD models, physical prototypes and test data from our own wheel test lab.
Some of the projects are shown below.
How we test castors
We use FEM analysis and 3D scanning while a castor is in development. Before it goes into series production, it runs load and endurance tests in our own lab.
In series production, parts are checked during pressing, plating and assembly.
Choosing a castor: load, floor and environment
Load per castor
Divide the total weight of trolley and load by the number of castors carrying it. On uneven floors, count on three castors instead of four.
Floor and tread
Soft treads such as rubber and PU run quietly and protect finished floors. Hard wheels in PA or PP roll easier under heavy loads on smooth concrete.
Temperature
Standard treads are made for room temperature. For cold storage, ovens or washing lines, ask for a heat or cold resistant version.
Brake
A wheel brake stops the wheel. A total brake also locks the swivel. A directional lock keeps a swivel castor running straight.
Standards
Castors and wheels are tested to the EN 12526 to EN 12533 series. Tell us which standard your customer asks for.
