What roll container castors have to handle
Roll containers and roll cages run full, all day, on floors that are rarely perfect. These are the loads a castor has to take.
-
Impact: thresholds, dock plates and lift edges hit the wheel and the swivel head hundreds of times a day.
-
Pushing effort: a full container has to start and turn without the operator straining, which depends on tread, bearing and wheel diameter.
-
Stability: high-stacked or fragile goods must not tip when the container turns or stops.
-
Rules: EU customers increasingly ask for recycled material and documented PAH content.
-
Demand peaks: seasonal peaks and late containers from overseas need a supplier who can deliver large volumes at short notice.
-
Replacement cost: every castor that fails takes a container out of service, so the cost of a castor is its price plus its replacements.

Short delivery times
“A Dutch customer needed 30,000 swivel castors delivered within 4 weeks because a container from overseas was too late. No worries, LIV Systems has got your back. Our presses are not impressed by such quantities, our robots will not charge overtime, and our team is always dedicated to helping our partners out.”
Roll container castors
Fast, Large-Volume Supply Across Europe
Load and durability
-
Wheels: solid polyamide (PA6) or polypropylene (PP), or elastic rubber and polyurethane treads on plastic wheel centres, for heavy loads and daily use.
-
Corrosion protection: zinc plated and passivated Cr6+-free, 10 to 15 µm, for wet and cold areas.
-
Forks: swivel and fixed forks rated up to 300 kg per castor.
Rolling and steering
-
Bearings: ball and roller bearings lower rolling resistance, so a full container starts with less force.
-
Swivel head: designed to steer smoothly under load.
-
Brakes and locks: central brake and directional lock as options, for safer loading and transport.
Tested castors and certified plant
-
Shock absorption: elastic rubber treads and twin wheels reduce vibration, which protects fragile goods and the operator’s arms.
-
Tested castors: roll container castors tested to EN 12532 (castors for manually propelled equipment up to 1.1 m/s).
-
Certified plant: production under ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment).
Environment
-
Recycled material: rubber treads and PP wheel centres from 100 % recycled material.
-
Energy: 1.41 MWp of solar on our roof.
-
Low PAH content: test values on request.
Lead time
-
24/7 production: presses, plating and assembly run around the clock for high volumes.
-
Large orders: shipped within 1 to 2 weeks.
-
Location: production in Slovenia, in the middle of the European market.
Cost over the container’s life
-
Weight: castors that are light for their load rating, so less material goes into each one.
-
Fit: castors that fit existing roll containers without changes to the frame.
-
Lifespan: fewer replacements over the life of the container lower the cost per year.
Castors to your roll container
We change size, tread, bearing and lock to suit your container, floor and load.
-
Dimensions and locks: custom sizes, materials and locking mechanisms.
-
Floor and load: tread and bearing chosen for your floor type and load per castor.
-
Coatings: extra corrosion protection for wet, cold or outdoor areas.
Wheel types
Roll container castors by wheel type
Four wheel types, chosen for floor, load and noise.
Besides the standard castors in the catalogue we make special castors for roll containers on request, for example:
-
Fixed castors with central brake, so one pedal locks all four wheels.
-
Swivel castors with central brake, mostly used on post and parcel roll cages.
-
Fixed castors with a brake pedal on the castor itself.
-
Swivel and fixed castors with a toe guard that keeps the operator’s feet away from the wheel.
Send us the container type, the castor you use now and the yearly quantity, and we propose a version.
